“Secret Weapons” is the latest in what seems to be a neverending line of Valiant miniseries that reshapes and contextualizes their line every few months. Not events in the sense of a thousand tie-ins, but events in that you feel like you must read the books, lest you be left behind. Writer Eric Heisserer, screenwriter of Arrival, has fit like a glove into the Valiant universe, and has crafted a story that feels absolutely essential, and both new and familiar, in “Secret Weapons.” All of that would be for naught, if not for Raul Allen’s absolutely stellar linework, full of beautiful design and explosive action, giving the book the epic feel its story deserves. We are thrilled to share an exclusive first look at the final issue, which hits stands on September 20th.
