It was reported this week that Shang-Chi movie director Destin Daniel Cretton is helming a Disney+ series based on Gene Luen Yang’s seminal graphic novel “American Born Chinese.” It feels appropriate, given Yang writes the character’s current comic book series, although the world he and artist Dike Ruan have been building is quite different from the one in the MCU. Case in point: Shang-Chi’s mother, Jiang Li, is alive.

MEET THE NEW IRON MAN… SHANG-CHI?!
A weapons dealer offers up a stolen Iron Man suit to Shang-Chi’s organization.
But will Shang-Chi take it to use in his war against crime?
And what will Tony Stark have to say about it?!

Thanks to Marvel for the preview, and be sure to pick up the book – either safely in a store, or digitally – next week!
