Exclusive Preview: “Shazam” #8

While it may be hard to recognize, due to its inconsistent release schedule, “Shazam” is not only the first Shazam/Captain Marvel ongoing set in main DC continuity in 20 years, but also the first time that the newly expanded Shazam family has appeared, save for their original “Justice League” backup in the New 52. For characters who have starred in their own DC film, this is a pretty crazy fact.

But the series has been a rollercoaster thus far, with the family split up across seven kingdoms, and the mystery of the seventh family member still unsolved. We’re thrilled to share an exclusive first look at the eighth issue, which hits your local comic shop on November 27th.

As Billy Batson and the rest of the Shazam Family are about to learn as they cross over into the Darklands, the Magiclands aren’t all fun and games! In a world filled with all kinds of frightful creatures and haunts, nothing will compare to the horrors of Billy’s own internalized fears.

Thanks to DC for the preview, and make sure to pick up the issue on Wednesday!
