Slott Brings The Sinister Six Back To Spider-Man (Preview)

Over the years, one of the most famous group of rogues in the history of Spider-Man has been the team-up of his iconic villains, calling themselves the Sinister Six. With a rotating group of members based on whoever wants to kill Spider-Man that particularly week, the group were comparable to Flash’s Rogues, albeit ultimately less organized.

However, as Dan Slott’s Spider-Man run moves forward past the first year of stories (entitled collectively Big Time, which culminated in Spider-Island), we knew that some kind of arc entitled either End Times or End Of The Earth was coming in year two, featuring the dastardly return of Doctor Octopus in his villainous new form. It looks like that’s not all, though, as in Amazing Spider-Man #676, Doc Ock and the Sinister Six are returning, now made up of the good doctor and Sandman, Mysterio, Electro, the Rhino and Chameleon. (This is almost the same as the original line-up, which had Vulture and and Kraven in place of Chameleon and Rhino).

Not only that, but it looks like some of the Intelligencia, the villains from Loeb’s Hulk run that tried to make everyone a Hulk, are also somehow involved, as is apparent on the preview images sent over by Marvel, with art by Humberto Ramos.

Curiouser and curiouser. However, if Dan Slott’s first year on Spider-Man is any indication, the upcoming story arc will be rather entertaining indeed.

Check after the cut for three unlettered preview pages, as well as the full press release from Marvel.
