“Darth Vader,” under the pen of Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larocca, was a massive hit for Marvel and Star Wars. It spawned an even more popular spin-off and showed just how much story could actually be told with these characters despite the limitation of knowing almost everything before and after the series.
There were some large shoes to fill when Charles Soule and Guiseppe Camuncoli stepped in to continue the story of the Dark Lord of the Sith. By taking the story back the formation of the Empire and Vader’s fledgling days as apprentice to Palpatine, Soule and Camuncoli have been able to explore a transitional period in the galaxy. With #9, Vader continues his hunt for Jocasta Nu, chronicler of the Jedi Order, before she can access something hidden in the Jedi archives.
“Darth Vader” #9 arrives on shelves December 6.
