Superman And Braniac Have Their Showdown

It’s been brewing since last year. Braniac stole Kandor. Superman got Kandor back, so Braniac killed Pa Kent. Now Braniac is back for the entirety of New Krypton, and Superman is not going to have it! James Robinson teams up with Sterling Gates to bring you The Last Stand Of New Krypton, a three-issue mini series spinning out of the events of World of New Krypton, Superman, Action Comics, Supergirl, and Adventure Comics.

DC has put up a new preview of the artwork by Pete Woods, and it looks pretty good. It’s like a cross between Darrick Robertson (the Boys) and Cameron Stewart (Batman and Robin). With a writer like Sterling Gates on the title, you know that it’s going to be pretty good. Due to this week’s Adventure Comics, there promises to be an appearance by the Legion of Super Heroes, and after this ends, as well as War of the Supermen, we get a new Legion book!

So while this is the penultimate chapter to the end of the Superman story that has been running since a little bit before New Krypton, it paves the way for a new Superman story line, and hopefully a return to basics, with Action Comics and Superman both actually having Superman in them again! Either way, keep your eyes peeled for a review in the coming week.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
