In hindsight, it’s surprising it’s taken this long for Mark Russell to pen a Star Wars story: as one of comic books’ most political writers, you’d think he’d have written a story about Sheev Palpatine, the worst fictional politician of all time, dispatching one of his Sith apprentices sooner. In any case, we are pleased to present an exclusive preview of his and Carlos Nieto’s issue of “Star Wars: Darth Maul – Black, White & Red,” due out from Marvel on Wednesday.

MAYHEM AT THE MOONBENDER COLONY! Who are THE REMAINDERS, and what threat are they to LORD PALPATINE? DARTH MAUL is sent to conquer a mining colony single-handed, but the unexpected opposition becomes an intense battle of life and death! One of STAR WARS’ most famous villains learns one of his most valuable lessons!

Thanks to Marvel for the preview, and be sure to pick up the book – either safely in a store, or digitally – next week! In the meantime, please also enjoy A New Hope‘s anniversary on Saturday – as Maul’s nemesis would say, may the Force be with you, always.
