Take a Look at the Online-Only Prologue to Fraction and Ward’s “ODY-C”

As seen by me on Christian Ward’s tumblr (though it’s apparently from an exclusive at USA Today, Matt Fraction and Ward have crafted a special little treat for those looking to get into their upcoming series, “ODY-C.” A five page prologue that won’t be in the book itself, the following pages act as a primer for their gender-flipped sci-fi take on Homer’s epic poem.

Take a look:

Starring Odyssia on her journey home, “ODY-C” debuts this November from Image as a “26-chapter series.” We’re certainly no strangers to variations of “The Odyssey” (my personal favorite is still O Brother, Where Art Thou), but if the preview is anything to go by — let alone Fraction and Ward’s previous endeavors, both together in “Dark Horse Presents” and alone in various works — “ODY-C” should be quite an intriguing journey indeed.

Matthew Meylikhov

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
