The Rise Of Arsenal Spins Out Of Control

As we continue to deal with the aftermath of Cry For Justice, the latest entry into the Rise and Fall arc comes out this week with The Rise Of Arsenal #2, which seeks to remind you that yes, Roy Harper’s daughter is dead and yes, Roy Harper has lost his arm. You know, in case you somehow forgot. I have enjoyed this whole destruction of the Arrow family, but I do have to say that the over showing of the death of Roy’s daughter is officially on that very fine line of being compelling and being torture porn for shock value purposes.

No matter where you stand on the dead daughter line, DC’s The Source blog has posted up a preview of this week’s installment, and it looks fairly dark. It also promises to feature a battle between Roy and his ex-girlfriend Cheshire, which can’t be good news.

Written by J.T. KRUL; Art by GERALDO BORGES and MARLO ALQUIZA; Cover by GREG HORN

Spinning out of CRY FOR JUSTICE, “The Rise and Fall” continues here as Roy Harper discovers that getting a prosthetic arm doesn’t make him whole again, he’s also forced to deal with Green Arrow’s shocking revelation from JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE RISE AND FALL SPECIAL #1. And sparks fly when Roy’s old flame Cheshire shows up…to kill him!

The issue comes out this Wednesday at $3.99.

Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
