Of all of the ‘New Age of Heroes’ books, “The Unexpected” is the most, pardon the pun, unexpected of the bunch. A batch of new characters that have been tossed into the deep end of DC continuity, this is pretty much the only place in DC’s current slate where Castle Frankenstein, Hawkman, and characters created via the Dark Multiverse can come together. It is a book that is, on one hand, free of the shackles of long, convoluted histories for its characters, but also truly steeped in DC lore.
In other words, it feels very much like a Steve Orlando book.
We are thrilled to share an exclusive first look at the fifth issue, illustrated by Ronan Cliquet, which drops on October 3rd.
