Victor LaValle wrote one of my favorite books of the 21st century, Big Machine. It was a fascinating tale that blended personal history with race, science fiction with drug addiction, and more. It is a supremely fascinating novel, and I’ve picked up everything LaValle has written since. His first comic book, “Destroyer,” covers some similar ground, but also adds to the mix the Frankenstein mythos, creating something totally new and exciting in the process. Add to the story the incredible line art of Dietrich Smith, and this book has been one of the most exciting releases of 2017 thus far. We are thrilled to share an exclusive first look at the second issue, which drops on June 21st.
