This morning, DC’s The Source posted a preview of the upcoming issue of Batman. It is the finale of the Black Mask arc that came about in the wake of Battle for the Cowl, where a new Black Mask arrived in Gotham City to cause trouble for Dick. We’ve been teased a bit as to the identity of Black Mask, and all signs point to it being someone familiar. It definitely isn’t the original Black Mask, though, as he was confirmed dead in the Catwoman Blackest Night tie-in.

Who wears the Black Mask? The true identity of Gotham City’s new crimelord is finally revealed and that identity will surprise everybody — especially Batman! And after the final showdown between Black Mask and The Dark Knight, will things ever be the same for Kittyhawk and the Reaper?

So who do you think the Black Mask is? The book, written and drawn by Tony Daniel, comes out on the 17th.

Once upon a time, Matthew Meylikhov became the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Multiversity Comics, where he was known for his beard and fondness for cats. Then he became only one of those things. Now, if you listen really carefully at night, you may still hear from whispers on the wind a faint voice saying, "X-Men Origins: Wolverine is not as bad as everyone says it issss."
