One of the most interesting aspects of the X-Men’s current ‘Dawn of X’ era is how the amnesty towards all mutants on Krakoa has given us the most sympathetic and nuanced portrayal of the original Apocalypse to date. That trend continues with this year’s crossover ‘X of Swords,’ which has centered on a reckoning with Apocalypse’s wife Genesis/Annihilation, and their children, the First Horsemen, who are now the Swordbearers of Arakko — and the ancient mutant will be facing off against her in the tournament. The story continues next week with parts 12-13 in “X-Men” and “Marauders” #14, and we are pleased to present a brief, exclusive preview of the former.
