The X-line got a serious shakeup earlier this year, following the events of ‘ResurrXion,’ and “X-Men: Gold” has emerged as the quasi-flagship book for the line. Under Marc Guggenheim’s pen, the series has gathered together a veritable All-Star X-team (Old Man Logan, Colossus, Kitty Pride, Storm, etc), and is committed to telling ‘classic’ X-stories. The issue we are previewing today is a “Secret Empire” tie-in, a first for the series, and it sees the Xavier Institute take its proper role as a sanctuary for all. It’s a nice touch for an institute that means so much to so many people. We are thrilled to share an exclusive first look at the issue, which comes out on July 5th.

SECRET EMPIRE TIE-IN! When Manhattan is besieged, the X-Men open their doors and repurpose their school as a safe haven for any human or mutant in need of sanctuary. But little do they know that one of the humans they’ve welcomed in is the all-new X-CUTIONER! And he’s about to make the Xavier Institute the last place mutants want to be…

Thanks to Marvel for the preview, and make sure to pick up the issue next week!
