On Friday, to celebrate the end of “Immortal Hulk,” we wanted to look back on the past five years or so of Marvel comics and see what book stood out among the rest. Our criteria was simple: if the book had made our ‘Best Ongoing Series’ lists from 2016-2020, we included it on the list. We had a feeling that “Immortal Hulk” would be pretty well represented on the list, as it had won the Best Ongoing, both from our staff and our readers, for the past three years.

We were right.

31% of our readers felt that Al Ewing’s “Immortal Hulk” is the best Marvel book from that era. This is unsurprising, and shows just how singular and beloved that series is.

Coming in second was Jason Aaron’s Thor run, in all of its various guises, with 19.5% of the vote. Rounding out the top three is the current “Daredevil” run, penned by Chip Zdarsky, with 16.1%.

Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
