On Friday, we asked you to vote for your favorite version of Marvel’s Loki from the comics and the first season of the Disney+ series. Well, the results are in, and an overwhelming 42.1 percent of you chose Kid Loki, the trickster god’s reincarnation who starred in Kieron Gillen and co.’s beloved “Journey into Mystery” run from 2011 to 2012. Kid Loki — a variant of whom was played by Jack Veal on the show — was a genuinely good boy, who fell victim to his predecessor’s machinations to return through his body, so we can consider his victory an act of cosmic justice.
In second place was Modern Loki with 16.7 percent: the post-“Journey into Mystery,” Tom Hiddleston-inspired version, who is Old Loki in Kid Loki’s aged up body, won over fans with his appearances in Gillen and Jamie McKelvie’s “Young Avengers,” Al Ewing and Lee Garbett’s “Loki: Agent of Asgard,” and more since, including Daniel Kibblesmith and Jan Bazaldua’s brief 2019 run, which inspired a line in the TV series.
Finally, in third place with 14.8 percent of the vote was Alligator Loki, a version created for the show who was, for some reason, a reptile that got pruned from the sacred timeline for eating the wrong neighbor’s cat. This incarnation swam his way into many viewers’ hearts when he bit President Loki’s hand off.
