On Friday, we ran several Marvel movie-related polls to mark the release of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the tenth anniversary of The Avengers, and the 20th anniversary of Spider-Man. Coming in at first place, with 20.5 percent for our first question, “What is Your Favorite MCU Film?,” was 2014’s sterling Ed Brubaker/Steve Epting adaptation Captain America: The Winter Soldier, followed in second place by Avengers: Endgame with 17.9 percent, and (rather surprisingly) Captain America: The First Avenger in third place with 12.8 percent.

34.8 percent of you chose Winter Soldier, Civil War, Infinity War and Endgame helmers the Russo brothers as your favorite MCU film directors, which felt curious given the mixed reception towards their films outside the MCU. (Some of you must be really big Arrested Development fans.) In second place with 21.7 percent was Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy director (and Troma veteran) James Gunn, and in third with 17.4 percent was Gunn’s fellow comedy genius, the Academy Award-winning Thor: Ragnarok & Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi.

32 percent of you named Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 the best pre-MCU Marvel film, followed by X2 with 28 percent, and Spider-Man and Blade tied in third place with 12 percent each. WandaVision was named best Disney+ Marvel series with 41.7 percent, with Moon Knight in second place with 20.8 percent, and Loki and Hawkeye tied for third with 16.7 percent. Guardians of the Galaxy, Awesome Mix and all, won Best Soundtrack with 20 percent of the vote, followed by Alan Silvestri’s Endgame score with 15 percent; the rest of the results were too split to determine a consensus for third place.

29.2 percent of you chose Daredevil and Hawkeye big bad Wilson Fisk aka the Kingpin as the MCU’s best villain, followed by Thanos with 25 percent, and Loki with 12.5. (It was interesting none of you picked Multiverse of Madness‘s villain, or that the film had no impact on WandaVision‘s popularity.) Finally, an overwhelming 52.6 percent of you picked Hulk smashing Loki over Hulk punching Thor as the funniest moment in The Avengers, while 36.8 percent of you wondered why it wasn’t a poll to determine the best laugh in the whole MCU. (Because the Mandarin twist in Iron Man 3 would’ve won, obviously.)
