This weekend, we asked you to tell us what you found the most exciting news from this year’s New York Comic Con. In first place with 20.7 percent of the vote was Marvel’s announcement that Jonathan Hickman’s revamped Ultimate Universe line will consist of a Spider-Man series by Hickman himself and Marco Checchetto; an “Ultimate Black Panther” series by Bryan Edward Hill and Stefano Caselli; and an X-Men book by Peach Momoko. Especially tantalizing was Hickman’s description of his Spider-Man being an older man, in stark contrast to how the publisher has backtracked on 616 Peter Parker getting married and becoming a dad.

Tied for second place with 17.2 percent each were the announcement of “John Constantine, Hellblazer: Dead in America,” the new maxiseries for everyone’s favorite exorcist, once again by Si Spurrier and Aaron Campbell; and the launch of Brad Meltzer, Jason Fabok, Gary Frank, Bryan Hitch, Geoff Johns, Lamont Magee, Francis Manapul, Peter J. Tomasi and Maytal Zchut’s new imprint at Image, Ghost Machine. Naturally, some of you are desperate for more Constantine from Spurrier and Campbell (especially with a premise that involves Dream of the Endless and Swamp Thing), while some of you are more keen to see what Johns, Tomasi et al. have in store for you outside DC.

In third place with 13.8 percent was the revival of DC’s ‘Elseworlds’ line, which has never really gone away, given two titles in the line-up consist of sequels to recent series, but Andy Diggle and Leandro Fernandez’s “Gotham by Gaslight: The Kryptonian Age” seems like an especially lovely way to pay tribute to the late Brian Augustyn. Seeing Erica Slaughterverse veterans Tate Brombal and Werther Dell’Edera take a stab at the Green Lantern mythos is certainly very exciting too.

Thanks to everyone who voted, and be sure to check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
