We have come to a point in the year where, for the most part, most of the ‘big’ news that will affect comics released this year has come out. New York Comic Con in October tends to set the tone for the first half of the next year, news wise, whereas San Diego usually sets the path for the rest of the current year. So, while there are still a lot of comics to read, we’re curious who you think is having the best year so far?
If you’re looking at recent events, and in one corner of the universe, Jonathan Hickman has given Marvel a real kick in the ass over the past few months, with “House of X” and “Powers of X” being bonafide hits, both commercially and critically. Over at Dark Horse, this year saw the end of “B.P.R.D.,” with the return of Mike Mignola to drawing interior pages. DC hasn’t had as many high ticket attractions this year, but has been consistently putting out better books than it was pre-‘Rebirth.’ Image closed the book on “The Walking Dead” in surprising fashion.
We could keep going, but y’all read the site, you know what has happened this year. So, by comics alone, which company is having the best 2019 thus far? We’ll have a Publisher of the Year crowned in December, but a lot can happen between now and then. As of right now, who is the best? Vote in our poll, and check back on Monday for the results!
