On Friday, inspired by the news of a new “Flashpoint Beyond” miniseries from DC and the upcoming The Flash film, we asked our readers if they wanted more stories set in the “Flashpoint” timeline/universe. Even though we only had three options, it is still surprising for any of our poll options to get more than 50%. But our fans have spoken.
58.7% of our readers said they want nothing to do with more “Flashpoint” stories, while 23.9% can’t separate the story from what surrounded it, and are unsure. That means that only 17.4% actively want to see this era return. That’s not surprising from anecdotal evidence from myself and those I tend to chat with about comics, but I am a little surprised to see the general Multiversity readership being so down on this idea.
On a personal note, I feel I need to re-read “Flashpoint” with a decade’s hindsight to attempt to get a better read on it, and not read it as the sea change that it brought forth. But clearly I am not alone in having less than great memories of the event.
