On Friday, we asked you what you folks tend to do at comic conventions. We gave you the option to answer multiple times, and many of you did that, but the top two choices were pretty clear: 57.1% of you said that panels were a priority at conventions, and 53.6% always make time for buying comics. These weren’t exactly shocking revelations, though I’m a little surprised at how many of you are into going to panels. I, Brian, have have seen panels fall to the wayside for me in my own con attendance. But clearly that’s not the case for you guys!
Buying comics is an obvious one, too. I get to do my two favorite kinds of comic shopping at conventions: buying directly from creators and finding good deals on back issues. This also nicely leads into the third choice, getting comics signed, which 42.9% of you enjoy doing as well. 35.7% of you buy original art as well, either prints, commissions, sketches, or pages. And, rounding out the top 5, 21.4% try to collect as much free swag as possible.
One of the great things about conventions is that they have something for just about everyone, which is evidence by this list. IF you’ve never gone, change that next time there’s a cool sounding con in your backyard.
