On Friday, we asked our readers to reflect on the nearly 2 decade of Dan DiDio at DC Comics. While the results weren’t exactly a blowout, our readers sent a pretty clear message to ol’ Danny.

41.2% of voters decided that DiDio was bad for DC, overall. It’s not hard to see why some fans would feel that way, as there are any number of projects that could be rattled off – ‘New Age of Heroes,’ “Countdown to Final Crisis,” etc – that were unmitigated disasters under DiDio’s watch. There was also his reputation for micromanaging and his oversight of the ‘New 52,’ all of which left many fans feeling disconnected from DC.

33.3% felt that his impact was neutral; that there was enough good to balance out the bad, and vice versa. This is likely where I come down on this topic, as I know DiDio was both a good boss at times and a guy who took risks, even if those risks didn’t work out.

Finally, 25.4% of folks thought he did more good than anything else in his time at the helm.

Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
