On Friday, we asked you which of the 2020 Eisner Award nominees for Best Continuing Series deserved the award. Two books tied for first place, and they represent the two most different series of the six nominees.

“Criminal” and “Immortal Hulk” tied with 24.1% of the vote. “Immortal Hulk” is the latest iteration of Marvel’s 50 year + Hulk story, shepherded by Al Ewing. “Criminal” is a creator-owned noir series, which harkens back to a much older style of entertainment, but does so with modern flair by co-creators Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. Both of these series can be counted on for their continued excellence, and either would make a fine Eisner winner.

Just behind them with 20.4% was “Daredevil” by Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto, and coming in third place was “Bitter Root” by David F. Walker, Chuck Brown, and Sanford Greene with 14.8%.

While no award will ever capture the collective nod of approval from all comics fans, the Eisners have a good track record of honoring quality, and this year’s list is no different. The Eisners will happen on the weekend that was supposed to be San Diego Comic Con.

Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
