On Friday, we asked which of the ‘Hill House’ imprint titles were your favorites thus far, in honor of Locke and Key starting up over the weekend. Over half of our voters, 51.3% said that “Basketful of Heads” was their favorite title. Written by Joe Hill and illustrated by Leomacs, the book is pure late 70s throwback, with shades of Jaws, Halloween, and Hill’s pop, Stephen King. Leomacs, a relative newcomer, does some absolutely fantastic work on the title, elevating it from period piece homage into something really special.

Coming in second was “The Dollhouse Family.” The book reunites the “Lucifer” and “The Unwritten” team of Peter Gross and Mike Carey for a creepy tale of a child and her haunted toy. 23.1% of our readers chose this as their favorite.

Coming in third with 15.4% of the vote is “The Low, Low Woods,” a favorite of the DC3cast’s Vince Ostrowski, and the book of the line that feels the most like a classic Vertigo title, even though “The Dollhouse Family” has a strong Vertigo pedigree.
