On Friday, we asked what your favorite Star Trek comic series was. We tried to run the gamut of types of stories that we presented, and focused on both the original series’ timeline and the ‘Kelvin’ timeline that spins out of the most recent film series. Both timelines were represented in our #1 slot, as we have a tie!
Both IDW’s ‘Kelvin’ timeline ongoing series, which ran from 2011-2016, and DC’s original timeline series from 1984-1986 each got 27.3% of the vote. The two series are quite different, but both do a really good job keeping the personalities and tones of their respective source material, while also allowing the books to tell stories that the films or television series would likely tell.
DC’s Next Generation series came in second with 18.2%, and three other series tied with 9.1% (the original Gold Key series, the DC/IDW “Star Trek/Green Lantern” crossover, and IDW’s “Year 5” book). Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
