On Friday, we recapped all of the new Star Wars announcements from the Disney Investors’ Day, and then asked you which of the upcoming series/films you were most excited about. Three projects were the clear favorite, but at the last minute, one pulled ahead to win the day. And so we say “hello there” to an old friend.

Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Deborah Chow-run series starring Ewan McGregor as late middle age Ben Kenobi and featuring a returning Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader, took the top spot for our readers, with 23.8% of the vote. This is something that people have been clamoring for since the Prequel Trilogy ended, and with the added mystery of what Christensen will do as Vader, it’s not a surprise that our readers were so excited about it.

Coming in second with 20.6% was Rogue Squadron, the 2023 film from Patty Jenkins. Little is known about the series yet, but it comes from a personal place for Jenkins, whose father was a fighter pilot. This also marks the first female Star Wars director, which is something that is a long time coming.

Finally, Ahsoka takes the third spot, with 19% of the vote. The Rosario Dawson-led series is both spinning out of and, eventually, crossing over with The Mandalorian, and is an amazing step forward for a once-maligned character that originated in animation.

Check back on Friday for the next Reader Poll, and keep enjoying our Festival of Lightsabers all week long!
