Reader Poll Results: Good Grief, We Have a Tie for Favorite “Peanuts” Character

On Friday, we inquired as to who was your favorite “Peanuts” character. While I must say I’m disappointed at the relatively low voter turnout for this week’s poll, the top choices were quite clear and decisive, except that the two characters with the highest totals tied. 25.8% of you voted for either Charlie Brown or Linus van Pelt for your favorite characters.

Charlie, Chuck to Peppermint Patty, is the classic everyman, the long-suffering protagonist who tries quite hard but often disappoints. Linus is the youngster of the bunch, replete with security blanket, but is often times the font of wisdom and good sense in the gang. He’s also about as different as his sister Lucy as you can get.

In second place came Snoopy, Charlie’s pet dog and Red Baron cosplay enthusiast. 22.6% of you voted for Snoopy, who exists in sort of a parallel world to the rest of the gang, having his own adventures that only sometimes cross over with Charlie and the gang.

In a distant third place is a second tie, between Marcie and Pig-Pen, with 6.5%.

Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
