On Friday, we asked our readers to choose from the recently cancelled Marvel series to decide which series would be most missed. While every series we presented got at least a vote, “Valkyrie,” the Jane Foster-led series, will be the most missed by our readers. 22.2% of our readers said that this is the biggest loss of the bunch. While this volume is wrapping up, it seems all but obvious that whenever Thor: Love and Thunder gets released, we’ll get another Jane Foster-led series. The question is, just when will that be?
Tied for second place with 15.9% were “Doctor Strange” and “Hawkeye: Freefall.” It seemed like “Freefall” was always written with the knowledge that it would have a very short run, but “Doctor Strange,” especially from the pen of Mark Waid, seemed poised for a longer run than it got. It’s pretty surprising that these two characters, staples of the Marvel Cinematic Universe at this point, can’t hold down series, sales wise, right now. The correlation between the cinema and the pull list continues to baffle.
Coming in third was “The Amazing Mary-Jane,” garnering 12.7% of the vote. This series was a breath of fresh air in Marvel’s line, maybe the most so of this entire list, but it seemed destined for a short run from the start, sadly.
