On Friday, we asked our readers which of the COVID-19 delayed films that are based on comics, or properties that have had comic adaptations in the past, they are most looking forward to. The top slot, not surprisingly, went to the same film that our readers identified in January as their most anticipated comics film of the year: Wonder Woman 1984. 31.2% of our readers voted for this film, originally due out in June, which is (tentatively) scheduled for an October release.

In second place came in a film that isn’t delayed yet, but rumors would lead you to believe may not make its December opening, and that is Denis Villeneuve’s Dune. While Dune is best known as a novel and a disappointing David Lynch film, there have been several comic adaptations of the story over the years, including an upcoming BOOM! Studios adaptation of Dune: House Atreides. 24.7% of the voters selected this film in our poll.

Tied for third place with 13% each were two Marvel films, The New Mutants and Black Widow. The path to both of these films seems needlessly long, with New Mutants being stuck in reshoots and the Fox sale wormhole for awhile now, and Black Widow taking this long because…honestly, I have no idea why Marvel didn’t make this film 10 years ago.

Check back on Friday for our next reader poll!
