On Friday, we asked our readers to vote on their favorite story from DC’s “Infinite Frontier” #0. While there were 14 stories in the book, unlike some of DC’s other one-shots of this type, there wasn’t a real clunker in the bunch, and each of the stories managed to seed things that, seemingly, will be quite important going forward. That said, our readers did have a favorite.
22.5% of our readers chose the family reunion between Alan Scott, Jade, and Obsidian as their favorite sequence. This scene is important for reasons of both continuity and representation, and writer James Tynion IV and artist Stephen Byrne strike a really nice tone, allowing these heroes to act as a family first. A family that casually chats in costume, that is.
In second place with 15% of the vote was the Yara Flor/Wonder Girl sequence. While the scene was well done, it was incredibly slight, and simply acted as a little background info on Flor. This shows just how rabid readers are for more of her, when even these small tastes can be so well received.
Finally, tied for third, were both the ‘Attack on Arkham’ Batman story and the ‘Beware of Jon Kent’ Superman piece. Each of these act as the catalyst for the respective Bat and Super books spinning out of this, and so unlike some of these stories, readers won’t have to wait long to see where these tales go.
Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
