On Friday, we asked if, perhaps, we had reached saturation point with comic adaptations on television. This week alone, there are at least 2 new shows debuting that have comic roots (Hawkeye and Super Crooks), adding to the seemingly endless list of adaptations.
45.9% of our readers feel that this is simply too many shows. We didn’t give them a place to expand on that thought, but based on Twitter replies, some felt that the potential audience was being galvanized, whereas others felt we’re already scraping the bottom of the barrel for comic properties to adapt.
37.8% feel that the source material doesn’t matter, and so it isn’t important where a TV idea originated from. That was sort of the halfway answer, but they seem to not think it is a problem. Just 16.2% of those surveyed felt that, unilaterally, there are not too many comics shows.
If you have any free time from watching 594 comic TV shows, check back on Friday for our next reader poll!
