On Friday, we asked our readers to select their favorite comic book werewolf. We thought that, with Werewolf by Night debuting on Disney+ that, perhaps, Marvel’s premiere lycanthrope would take the top spot. As is often the case, we were quite wrong.
Coming in first with 30% of the total vote was the “Fables” mainstay Bigby Wolf, who has most recently been crossing over with Batman, because DC. This isn’t entirely surprising, as “Fables” was and is a very popular comic, and Bigby is at the heart of a lot of it.
In second place came my personal vote, William Grenier from “Hellboy.” The Grenier arc, ‘The Wolves of St. August’ is a very early Hellboy story, but one that holds up really well and feels like one of the stories that sees Mike Mignola really nailing the tone and tenor of the character. William got 20% in our poll.
Closing out the top 3 with 15% is Capwolf. If you don’t know who Capwolf is…well, you need to take a look.
Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
