On Friday, we asked how the change to the comiXology marketplace was going to affect how you purchased and read digital comics going forward. For a fanbase that is often prone to hyperbole, it was refreshing to see our readers have such measured takes on this topic.

A whopping 64.5% of our readers are willing to give the new system a fair shake. Compared to what has been said on Twitter and elsewhere, this seems downright reasonable! While I’m sure a fair amount of those folks are not happy about the changeover, they are not willing to cut bait just yet.

For 27.4% of our readers, however, they do not see themselves continuing with comiXology as their provider of digital comics after the change is fully in place. Just 8.1% of our participating readers don’t buy a la carte digital comics.

While services like Marvel Unlimited and DC Universe Infinite, it is easy to be a reader of digital comics but not a purchaser of single issues. Perhaps that is the future of digital comics.

Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
