Sometimes in life, it’s good to do a vibe check. With the announcement of a new Dick Tracy series, I got excited because I’m a longtime fan of the character. But, the more I thought about it and talked about it with some friends, the more I realized that I may be alone in my Tracy fandom. And so, Friday’s Reader Poll was me doing a vibe check on our readership, and seeing how y’all felt about the detective in the yellow hat and coat.
And while it was close, I feel justified in my excitement, as 28.9% of our readers agreed with me – we want new Dick Tracy stories! However, right behind them with 26.3%, were the folks who don’t want to read Tracy stories. And, just behind them, was a 23.7% block that hasn’t read Tracy books but would like to.
That’s a pretty close vote, but it’s nice to see that more than 50% of our readers want new Dick Tracy comics. It’s nice to be in the majority once in a while!
