On Friday, we asked you what your favorite Dr. Doom story is, in celebration of his sixtieth anniversary. We do one of these every week, and it isn’t often that I am this surprised by the opinions of our readers. Strap in, here we go.
In first place, with 31.7%, is the 2015 “Secret Wars” event from Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic. While this is a very fun event, it isn’t typically considered among the best Hickman stories. I appreciate the boldness of our readers!
Coming in second was “Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom: Triumph and Torment,” which is honestly one of the choices that I had hoped might show up, so I applaud the taste of our readers for their second place choice, which got 26.8% of the vote.
Tied for third were “Books of Doom” and “Emperor Doom” two very good stories that each received 9.8%.
I’m more than a little shocked that there were no appearances on the top of the list from works by John Byrne, Stan Lee, or Jack Kirby, but hell, that’s what makes these things fun. Check back on Friday for the next Reader Poll!
