On Friday, we asked readers, inspired by the recent casting news for the MCU’s Fantastic Four, which adaptation of Marvel’s foremost family was their favorite thus far. While this question may seem straightforward, the history of Fantastic Four adaptations is a rocky one, and there’s yet to be a film adaptation that garnered more than 12% of the vote, with two films getting no votes whatsoever.
Of the choices, the favorites were three of the four animated series we listed. Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes was our readers’ top choice, collecting 31.3% of the vote. In second place was the 1994-1996 Fantastic Four series that came out under the ‘Marvel Action Hour’ banner with 25%. Rounding out the top ten was the H.E.R.B.I.E.-featured Fantastic Four series from the late 60s.
Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll and, while you’re at it, look up the Roger Corman-produced film clips on YouTube. They’re a trip.
