On Friday, we asked our readers to vote on their favorite G.I. Joe character. We put out quite the list, and one of the fears was that no real winner would emerge. And while lots of characters did get votes, a few stood out above. In addition, this broke down essentially the way I had hoped it would, spotlighting three distinct part of Joe-fandom.

Coming in at #1 with 27.8% is Snake Eyes. The only Joe with a solo film to his name, Snake Eyes is a quintessential character for so many reasons, and makes total sense as the fan consensus for their favorite character.

Tied for second represent Cobra, the equally important piece of the Real American Hero era of G.I. Joe. Both Destro and Cobra Commander received 16.7% of the vote.

Finally, two pretty obscure Joes, at least by the normie standards held by this writer, tied with 11.1%: Beach Head and Barbecue.

Again, this is perfect: we get Snake Eyes for the casual fan, a double shot of Cobra for those that go a little deeper, and Beach Head and Barbecue for the real Joe maniacs.

Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!

There’s a lot of nostalgia behind the original X-Men: The […]
