On Friday, we asked our readers to vote on what they felt the best book was in the second week of DC’s ‘Future State’ event. Unlike week one, there wasn’t as consensus a pick this week as there was last time, but more than a third of our readers did pick one title that stood out above the rest.
“Future State: Justice League” #1, which featured stories of both the traditional JL and the Justice League Dark, garnered 36.1% of the vote. The issue, written by Joshua Williamson and Ram V, and illustrated by Robson Rocha and Marcia Takara, was the most expansive of the issues thus far, showing the reader a bunch of characters/settings, as well as re-introducing a villain from Grant Morrison’s “JLA.” That fact that it resonated with our readers isn’t a surprise.
Coming in second was “Future State: Dark Detective” #1, with 27.8%. Dan Mora’s artwork was exceptional here, and portends well for the “Detective Comics” run by Mora and Mariko Tamaki. Third place went to “Future State: Superman/Wonder Woman,” perhaps the most purely fun issue of the week, with 22.2%.
Check back on Friday for the next Reader Poll!
