On Friday, we asked which ‘replacement’ hero was the favorite of our readers. With seemingly half the list Thors and Captain Americas, I thought for sure that one of those would claim the top spot. As usual, I was very wrong.
While most of our choices got a few votes, Laura Kinney claimed the top spot with 18.6% of the vote. The once and future X-23, Laura’s spell as Wolverine is, apparently, quite well regarded among our readership. That is to take nothing away from the character or how she is written, I simply love it when our readers surprise us with their favorites in these polls.
Coming in second was Dick Grayson, when he donned the cape and cowl after Bruce Wayne ‘died’ in “Final Crisis.” This was a fantastic era of Batman stories, both with Dick as Batman and with the rest of the Bat-family dealing with his absence. 16.3% of you apparently agree!
And in third place is a replacement who, for 23 years, was seen as a permanent replacement until DC made him second banana again, and that is Wally West, whose “Crisis on Infinite Earths” to “Final Crisis” run is still the post-Crisis Flash era. 15.1% voted for Wally.
Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
