On Friday, we asked our readers to select their favorite of the three Marvels from The Marvels: Kamala Khan, Monica Rambeau, or Carol Danvers. While I wasn’t surprised at the result, I was shocked at the landslide-like nature of the votes.
With a walloping 73.9% of the vote, Kamala took the top spot. I wonder how much of this is based on the MCU adaptation versus the comics, but either way, it’s a pretty staggering victory.
What is equally shocking is that Monica and Carol tied with 13% of the vote. No disrespect to Monica, but her MCU and recent Marvel output has been far, far less than Carol’s, and Multiversity has so much history with not just Carol, but with her modern reviver, Kelly Sue DeConnick. That said, I grew up more with Monica than with any of the others, reading Roger Stern’s “Avengers” run, so she got my vote.
