On Friday, we asked our readers to pick their favorite Nick Fury story, in honor of the sixtieth anniversary of his first appearance. As is the case with some of our polls, a couple of options were far and away the most popular options, with the winning selection garnering just three and a half percentage points more than its most direct competition.

The winning comic, as is only right, was the run by Jim Steranko, which spanned both “Strange Tales” and ‘Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.” in 1967 and 1968, and is still seen as the definitive Nick Fury run, especially in the pre-‘Ultimate Universe’/MCU timeline. This collection received 34.5% of the vote.

Coming in second, with 31% was the Jonathan Hickman/Stefano Caselli “Secret Warriors” series from 2009. In distant third is the Stan Lee/Jack Kirby “Strange Tales” series, which ran from 1965 to 1967.

Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll, and for all of our readers in the United States, we hope you are enjoying your long weekend.
