On Friday, we asked our readers to consider Marvel’s declaration that “Spider-Man: Reign” is the most ‘notorious’ Spidey story of all time. We presented some additional stories that may fall on the ‘notorious’ scale. Not to toot our own horn, but “Reign” did not even make the top for on our readers’ rankings. So, I guess, toot toot.

In the top spot with 40.4% is the story that we, internally, felt would be the choice, which is ‘One More Day,’ the J. Michael Straczynski/Joe Quesada story that undid the marriage of Peter Parker and Mary-Jane Watson in turn for saving Aunt May’s life.

JMS gets the second spot as well with ‘Sins Past,’ his story with Mike Deodato, getting 21.2%. In case you forgot what this one is about, this one is all about Norman Osbourne fathering children with [checks note] Gwen Stacy. JMS was really on one in the early to mid aughts.

Finally, two older stories got 11.5% to tie for third. The original notorious story, ‘The Death of Gwen Stacy,’ and the pre-2000 answer to this question, ‘The Clone Saga,’ rounded out our list.

Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
