On Friday, we concluded our series of Reader Polls that focused on the ‘bests’ of 2022 with a look at the best OGNs of the year. It is interesting that the readers chose a book that just barely made our list at ten to be their top book, but that title comes from two fan favorite creators, so it’s not all that surprising.

“The Bone Orchard Mythos: The Passageway” took the top spot among our readers, with 26.9% of the vote. This OGN helped kick off the ambitious new series from Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino, which will continue in various formats for the next few years.

In second and third place came our first and third place books, both in the “Reckless” series: “Follow Me Down” (17.3%) and “The Ghost in You (11.5%).” The enduring power of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips and their hard-boiled crime work is really something to behold.

Most interestingly, we included “Lonely at the Centre of the Earth” by Zoe Thorogood, a book that came out after our voting had already commenced because of how much praise it has received, and that book came in fourth with 9.6% of the vote.

Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
