This weekend, I went to my local multiplex to watch the 25th anniversary reissue of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Seeing in on the big screen for the first time in almost a quarter century brought back a lot of the original feelings I had about the film, both in good and bad ways, which is why we wanted our readers to chime in this weekend with their thoughts on The Phantom Menace all these years later.

Surprisingly, more than half our readers – 55.3% – said that their opinion of the film hasn’t really changed in the two plus decades since the movie came out. This sort of shocked me; I can’t tell you how many folks I’ve encountered in life who said how much their perception of the prequels changed one way or another over time.

26.3% felt that their enjoyment of the movie has increased over time, while 18.4% now enjoy it less than they did in 1999.

Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
