Reader Poll Results: Our Readers are Torn About Substack

On Friday, we asked our readers what they thought about the current migration of creators to Substack. This is a hot topic around the comics internet right now, and we wanted to take the pulse of our readers to see what they, in our humble opinion, the most thoughtful in all of comics, had to say about the move. The results were surprising, to say the least.

Overall, almost 57% of the readers have a somewhat negative view of this trend. 45.2% felt that the move to Substack would benefit creators, but not readers, while 11.3% felt that it would do more harm than good on both sides. All of this is an experiment, and one that will, obviously, change and adapt over time, so it is too early to declare this anything close to decided, but it’s interesting that, less than a month into the real push towards this platform, more than half of our readers are skeptical.

35.5% of our readers feel it will be a good thing for everyone involved. Let’s hope that they’re correct.

Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
