On Friday, we looked at the state of comic creator Substacks and asked our readers to pick their favorite of the bunch. While there are a lot of creators doing them, one team, to me, seems to be taking it farther than any others in their ambitions for the project, and it appears that our readers agree.

“3W3M,” aka “Three Worlds, Three Moons,” the Substack spearheaded by Jonathan Hickman, but also involving Mike delMundo, Mike Huddleston, and others, won the poll with 28% of the vote. This was an unsurprising result, though I was unsure if the sheer volume of emails and the relative paucity of releases would work against them. Speaking personally, the system wasn’t very conducive to my reading habits, and so I unsubscribed.

In second place with 16% was ND Stevenson’s Substack, which is described as ‘quiet comics about gender, mental health, and getting older.’ Aesthetically, this is about as far from “3W3M” as you can get, which shows our readers’ diverse tastes.

Rounding out the top three was a trio of well-known creators’ Substacks, with Grant Morrison, Scott Snyder, and Brian K. Vaughan/Niko Henrichon all receiving 8%.

Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
