Reader Poll Results: “Batman” by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo is Our Readers’ Favorite New 52 Title

On Friday, and ahead of its tenth anniversary tomorrow, we asked our readers which title from the New 52’s initial launch was their favorite. The results were a bit overwhelming. This is officially the most responses we’ve ever received on a Reader Poll, and votes got cast for 28 of the 52 titles! Some of y’all are nutty in the best way and voted for “I, Vampire” and “Demon Knights.” Others of you voted for “Batman: The Dark Knight” and “Superman,” so you may need to do some real soul searching.

I kid, no judgment on your problematic favs.

But the biggest vote getter, by far, with 31.2%, was “Batman” by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo. It’s hard to argue that this wasn’t the star-making turn of the entire initiative, especially the first batch. Snyder was a relative newcomer, and Capullo had a very specific audience for his work; after this, they pretty much wrote their own ticket in comics, and continue to do so.

Second place went to Jeff Lemire/Travel Foreman’s “Animal Man, ” with 13.6% of the vote, and third place to Brian Azzarrello/Cliff Chiang’s “Wonder Woman.” All three series were worthy, if expected, choices.

Check back on Friday for our next Reader Poll!
