On Friday, we asked our readers which female superhero who hasn’t had a series since 2018 should get their own series. While we think that all of these characters are more than deserving of a series, there was one that our readers felt most strongly needed her own book. In fact, a full half of our readers felt the same way, leading to a clear winner: Storm.

Yes, Ororo Munroe received 50% of the vote, with fans lamenting the six year (thus far) gap since the last Storm series. While Ororo has been a consistent part of the X-books, there is so much more to her than her role in the X-Men. As one of Marvel’s most popular characters, it is kind of insane that she’s had so few series over the years. Get on that, Marvel.

Speaking of Marvel, the next two characters are both Marvel characters and, likely, both benefit from a little bit of recency bias. Monica Rambeau (9.5%) and the Scarlet Witch (7.7%) came in second and third, respectively. Both of these characters have been big players in the Avengers, much like Storm in the X-Men, but neither have had sustained solo series.

It is interesting that Marvel took 7 of the top 10 spots, with only Zatanna and Vixen from DC and Glory from Image cracking the top ten. Is this an indictment of Marvel’s ability to create series for their female characters, or a celebration of all of their great women in comics? It is probably both.
