On Friday, we asked our readers which series that we currently cover should do a time jump. This was inspired by Riverdale eschewing 7 years of storytelling to get to a place where the stories could be fresher. While the choice that took tops is not surprising, it isn’t for lack of interest in the current product.
46.7% of our readers chose The Mandalorian as the series to jump forward in time. I would think that this is more or less inspired by a desire to see a Djin/Grogu reunion, which folks think won’t happen right away. While I can understand that, there are so many interesting stories right now: Din as the rightful leader of Mandalore, his shifting understanding of what being a Mandalorian even means, and the general chaos of a post-Endor galaxy. I want to see many years of Mandalorian stories, no year excepted.
Next in the ranking was The Flash, with 26.7% of the vote. This show has already played with time travel a bit, as well as some rather dull seasons, so jumping it into the future is a boon for all parties. In third place was Star Trek: Discovery, which, again, seems a little silly based on how much people are enjoying the current product. But hey, what do I know?
Check back on Friday for our next poll!
