Lucharaaaaaaan! Hello guy and welcome to our sixth review of ¡Mucha Lucha! This episode includes “Bring Your Dad to Lucha Day” and “Our Founder”. A always, there’s a song for you to listen to while reading and this time I’ve noticed a heavy use of guitars, and although it’s a common misconception to mix Spain’s Flamenco with Mexican music, we do have a lot of awesome guitarists like Rodrigo & Gabriela. If you saw Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 you’ve already listened to them, but I suggest Tamacún! They really are incredible!

And now that the ring is ready, let’s start this review:

1. Recaps

Today it’s “Bring Your Dad to Lucha Day” and the Mascaritas want to win El Papi Corriendo Trophy! Good luck fighting your own friends!

Then, in “Our Founder” Buena Girl discovers that there’s a page missing on the Masked Code of Wrestling, that’s no buena! They are on the middle of a match and they don’t know what to do? They better go find that missing page.

2. Truly Mucha Lucha

The first part of the episode had a whole lot of fighting; for a show literally called “A Lot Of Wrestling” it usually has a lot of punches and a final match. So having an episode (and a plot) all about wrestling matches is cool, almost refreshing. Also, did you notice that (except for Snow Pea) every wrestler inherited his main trait? This is classic in Mexican Luchas!

3. We Can Also Learn Something

In this episode, The Lone Star gives a speech to Rikochet about how family and friends are more important than trophies and I really like that. I think it’s a great message to give to kids all around the world, honestly. Forget being the number one, focus on having your friends close to you.

4. The Founder vs The Custodian Groundskeeper

Tale as old as time, Skinner versus Willie, hero versus rudo, code versus fashion… Well I think I exaggerated a little, but it is a classic joke. So if you want your boutique to be successful, don’t put it underground. I don’t know, maybe this sport can also be a fashion statement.

5. A Fashion Statement

Well, not really, take a look at this image (or this, or this), I dare you to say “Wrestling can be a Fashion Statement”. Hahaha, this plot was so hilarious to me because they are right; there aren’t many pretty boys on the ring, at least talking about men. So, I ask you: can wrestling be a (good) Fashion Statement?

¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tres! ¡Ganadoooooor! That’s it for today, what you think of this episode? Let us know in the comments below and see you next Friday!
